About Hypnotic Heat
Hypnotic Heat is a cool aquatic floral eau de parfum for women, inspired by L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake. It is the most refreshing fragrance we make and the answer to a South African summer.
The opening is wide and watery. Melon leads with a soft, juicy sweetness, lemon sharpens it, and lotus, freesia, cyclamen and rose water spread out underneath so the whole thing feels like air above a swimming pool. Peach and rosewood add just enough body to stop it from being purely transparent.
The heart is a clean white bouquet. Carnation brings a faint spice, white lily and lily of the valley are dewy and green, peony is soft and pink, and jasmine and orris add depth and powder. It is floral without being sweet, which is a difficult balance and the reason this style has endured.
The base keeps it cool to the end. Musk and amberseed create a clean, skin-like warmth, osmanthus adds a faint apricot-leather nuance, and sandalwood and cedarwood give quiet structure. Even hours later it still reads as fresh rather than heavy.
Wear it on hot days, in offices with the air conditioning running, on holiday, at the coast and anywhere the heat is winning. Four sprays are perfectly safe. It is also an excellent choice for anyone who finds most perfume too strong, since it never crowds a room.

If you love L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake, Hypnotic Heat belongs to the same family. Both are built on a watery melon and lotus opening, a clean white floral heart and a soft musk and sandalwood base that keeps the whole composition cool and transparent.
Ours carries a little more fruit. The melon and peach are more generous in our opening, giving a slightly sweeter first impression, while the original is more austere and mineral. Our osmanthus adds a faint apricot warmth in the dry-down that the original does not emphasise. Both are moderate performers, lasting around five to six hours, and both stay close to the skin. Hypnotic Heat is inspired by that fragrance and has a similar character, but it is our own composition rather than a reproduction of it.

When to wear it
Summer daylight, without question. It is at its best in serious heat, on the coast, in the garden, at work when the air conditioning is struggling. Four sprays are safe because it never overwhelms. Because fresh fragrances fade faster in the sun, keep the 30ml at R70 in your handbag and the 100ml at R200 at home.

It shares the same watery, clean floral character that makes L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake so recognisable. Ours is an original composition inspired by that fragrance rather than a reproduction, and it carries a little more fruit.
How long does it last in hot weather?
Around five hours on skin, less in direct sun. Aquatic fragrances are lighter by design, so a top-up after lunch keeps it going through a full day.
Is it suitable for someone sensitive to strong perfume?
It is one of the gentlest options we stock. It stays within your own space, reads as clean rather than sweet, and rarely bothers people nearby.
Can it be worn in winter?
It can, though it feels thinner in cold air. If you love it year round, apply it over a rich body lotion in winter to give the musk something to hold on to.
